Meet The Research Students

Naomi Kereliuk

Hi! My name is Naomi Kereliuk and I am a registered dietitian currently practicing in Fredericton, New Brunswick in a clinical setting. My educational background includes a Master of Applied Nutrition from the University of Guelph and a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from Acadia University. I am one of the previous Research Assistants for Dr. Liesel Carlsson with a project funded by the Canadian Foundation of Dietetic Research. This project explored Sustainable Food Systems in Dietetic Education and Training. As a dietitian with an interest in sustainable nutrition, global food systems, and food security, I am very grateful to have expanded my knowledge in these areas and make terrific connections through this project.

Kaity Engel

Hello! My name is Kaity Engel, and I currently work as a Research Assistant for Dr. Liesel Carlsson. The project we are working on explores the Social Impact Potential of Dietitians on Population-Level Sustainable Dietary Patterns in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia. It has been a great learning opportunity to learn alongside a team of researchers passionate about making positive changes in our food system. As part of this team, I have gained multiple connections with working nutrition professionals and a better understanding of what goes into a research project.
